In the preview presented at the end of the episode 8, it shows that the main characters of Rebel Gladiators will be fighting side by side against the Roman army lead by Praetor Gaius Claudius Glaber. Based on the true historical accounts of ancient Rome about the Third Servile War, a Praetor named Gaius Claudius Glaber gathered a force of 3,000 men, not as legions, but as a militia which he picked up in haste and at random, for the Romans did not consider the rebellion lead by Spartacus as war but just a petty a raid, something like an attack of robbery. However, the rebels defeats the army of Gaius Claudius Glaber and later by Varinus. The defeat becomes makes a huge impact to thus the Roman emperor at that time declared war against rebel slaves. I guess the roman war against Spartacus and his comrades will be the topic of the next season of Spartacus series.

In this new episode, Gannicus is encouraging Spartacus to end the war since the slaves are suffering and many people will have to die. A Roman with a prominent position is captured and Spartacus can do whatever he wants to but can that be enough to be a reason to sacrifice what is good? This episode was given the title “Sacramentum.” The word Sacramentum can be basically translated to to an English word Sacrament which includes Christian rites like Eucharist, Baptism and such. But in the ancient Rome, the word Sacramentum means as a military oath taken by all Roman legionaries on entering the Roman army, part of the state ritual created by Augustus during his military reforms in the early 1st century CE. When someone is to enter into a Roman he had to take an oath which is called Sacramentum. In the rare case of punishment by decimation, the surviving legionaries were often required to renew this military oath which was part of the state religio at the foundation of Roman military discipline.

Are you ready Spartafans? It’s Friday, and our Friday would not be complete without a large dose of bloody action and hot sexiness from the number television show, the Spartacus Vengeance. So, we are guys our weekly awesomeness of entertainment is coming our way as the Spartacus: Vengeance Episode 3 Empty Hands will air on of Starz at 10/9c.

In the last week’s episode we had seen Crixus being captured by the Roman soldier after they found Naevia in the mine. A short, but emotional reunion between Crixus and Naevia happen last week that makes me blink to avoid a silly to fall. I’ll tell you that the last week episode was pretty awesome, a bit slow at the beginning but a total mayhem at the end. It was simply awesome. And this Friday we are looking forward for the Empty Hands episode. I think this episode we will learn what will be the fate of Crixus.
